What's wrong with me???
{grin}
I actually wandered downtown today to a local pub, but as I expected it was totally mobbed. I did take advantage of the opportunity to do some themed BookCrossing releases, though:
A Great Day for the Deadly by Jane Haddam (a mystery set on St. Patrick's Day)
Ulysses (Joyce's, not Homer's!)
In between releases I managed to find a new gaming/hobby store on Main Street and wound up buying a couple of lead miniatures (including a dandy medieval-style sarcophagus, with a knight in effigy on top and skeletal fragments inside - wonderful!). I also drooled over some scale-model dungeon chambers and corridors, which I covet madly but cannot afford. Maybe someday...
Got home, and - journaled a book? No. But I did write up some comments [caution: contains spoilers] on Middlemarch for the ongoing book discussion in the Book Talk forum, which I'm finding a very entertaining way to chat about a favorite book. [In this case it's one I've already read, but I'm hoping a future such discussion will motivate me to try one of the many as-yet-unread classics that I've thought about tackling someday.]
It's fun trying to type with a cat curled up on my lap. How do they know that I'm just about to get up? They always seem to pick those moments, rather than joining me when I first sit down for a nice long session at the computer or watching TV. You'd think they do it on purpose...
OK, now it's time for some Guinness. And if I'm very, very good I'll get back online later and write up some book reviews, so I can contribute to the various what-are-you-reading discussions with actual comments instead of just a list of titles!

Although, truth be told, I am not huge fan. Give me a Beamish Black any old day. Or Caffrey's or Kilkenny....
